MWC 2025: Samsung unveils “Flexible Briefcase” laptop

At MWC 2025, Samsung Display unveiled the “Flexible Briefcase,” a foldable-screen laptop bag. The 18.1-inch QD-OLED display has QHD+ resolution (2,000 x 2,664 pixels) and 184 PPI, providing a huge, brilliant screen in a compact, foldable form factor.

Display and Design
The Flexible Briefcase’s unique design turns the laptop into a briefcase with two handles that meet in the center when closed. This design combines flair and usefulness with power and volume controls.

Unfolded, the tablet has an 18.1-inch QD-OLED display with clear images and rich contrast. Although its 184 PPI pixel density is somewhat lower than the Galaxy Book4 Ultra’s 212 PPI, its huge screen and folding mechanism make it distinctive for content makers and professionals.

A Look at Foldable Laptops’ Future
Samsung studied foldable-screen laptops for years. The business created the Flex Note, which resembles the Flexible Briefcase, and patented a laptop that folded twice in 2022. Although a prototype, this design shows Samsung’s dedication to foldable technology.

Lenovo has also shown new laptop designs, including a solar-powered model that can play video for an hour after 20 minutes of direct sunshine charging. These, like the Flexible Briefcase, are experimental.

The Flexible Briefcase idea is intriguing, but commercial availability is unknown. Samsung might revolutionize portable computing with its folding design if it releases it.
