The introduction of Security AI Agents by Microsoft is intended to enhance cybersecurity.

In a year, Microsoft released AI-powered Security Copilot to bring AI-driven conversation to cybersecurity. Now, AI agents can help overburdened security personnel. Six of the company’s AI agents and five from partners are being released to expand the platform’s capabilities.

Microsoft AI Agents
Microsoft’s six security agents will preview next month and address phishing, data loss, alert prioritization, and vulnerability detection. Vasu Jakkal, corporate vice president of Microsoft Security, says the agents autonomously perform high-volume security and IT activities and integrate with other Microsoft Security products.

Third-party agents
Microsoft is developing third-party AI agents with OneTrust, Aviatrix, BlueVoyant, Tanium, and Fletch. A OneTrust-powered agent will analyze data breaches faster, and an Aviatrix-based agent will root cause study network outages or failures, helping security teams more.

As Microsoft and others provide AI services to enterprises, AI agents are becoming more popular. Microsoft relaunched Copilot for companies this year with a free AI chat functionality and per-user AI agent pricing.

Improved Team Security
Microsoft Teams now has AI agents and better phishing security. Microsoft Defender for Office 365 will protect Teams users against phishing, fraudulent URLs, and attachments next month.

At its April 9th Microsoft Secure event, Microsoft will unveil further security features and services. Microsoft has further details on these advancements.
