Today, the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025 began in Boao, Hainan. With vivo Vision (vivo’s MR headset), 6G innovations, the Blue Technology Matrix (BlueImage, BlueLM, BlueOS, BlueChip, and BlueVolt), and more, vivo showcased its cutting-edge innovations as a new member of the Boao Forum for Asia Board of Directors and a strategic partner of the event for four years running. vivo X200 Ultra, its future top imaging smartphone, was named “Official Smartphone of Boao Forum for Asia”.

Hu Baishan, Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Officer, and President of the vivo Central Research Institute, gave a keynote speech on “Humanity in the Future of Technology by vivo” at the “vivo Release Moment” session at the Boao Forum on March 25th afternoon.

In his lecture, Hu said the mobile phone business is a microcosm of China’s technical innovation, and vivo’s growth reflects this. Hu described the company’s three decades-old corporate philosophies: long-termism, humanistic thinking, and teamwork and mutual success. Vivo has led the Chinese mobile phone industry for four years and serves over 500 million consumers in over 60 countries and regions.

Hu Baishan said the mobile phone sector has been a “incubator” for new industries, changing how people live and work for decades. AI and robotics are the apex of digital and physical technology, respectively. These two worlds are still separate and not fully merged.

Mobile phones, with their large user base, cutting-edge technology, and varied application scenarios, might connect these two worlds. Robotics, which combine digital and physical capabilities, may be the future of mobile phones. This future will prioritize people-oriented ideals and user situations to produce the best experiences.

Hu announced vivo’s Robotics Lab in his address. The “brain” and “eyes” of robots will be developed by vivo using its decade of “BlueTech” expertise in AI big learning models and imaging and vivo Vision’s real-time spatial computing capabilities. Additionally, vivo will create consumer robotics for home and personal usage. vivo wants to bring lab technology to people. It will concentrate on incremental breakthroughs and continual innovation to tackle real-world problems and user pain points, iterating product development.

In its maiden appearance at the Boao Forum, vivo Vision marked a milestone in its mixed reality technology research. Building on this trend, the vivo X200 Ultra, released next month, will include vivo’s newest imaging advances. Vivo hopes to introduce robots to homes worldwide with industrial partners.
