Over the weekend, Ubisoft reported that Assassin’s Creed Shadows had quickly acquired two million players, surpassing Origins and Odyssey’s launch numbers.

The game sold one million copies on launch day. The publisher has struggled financially with Skull & Bones, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, and Star Wars Outlaws, so this strong start is encouraging.

Ubisoft’s future is uncertain, since the Guillemot brothers, the business’s main owners, are seeking investors to form a new company. Starting with Assassin’s Creed, this entity would manage Ubisoft’s biggest franchises. These attempts may benefit from Assassin’s Creed Shadows’ strong debut.
