Apple Could Launch an Ultra Phone This Year

Apple may release an iPhone 17 Ultra later this year, according to rumors. That seems familiar since similar speculations appeared before the iPhone 15 and iPhone 16 releases. Back then, most thought the “Ultra” would replace the Pro Max or be a new top-tier model.

Again, the same notion is generating headlines.

Ultra Might Replace Pro Max
A Naver blog article suggests Apple may replace the iPhone 17 Pro Max with an iPhone 17 Ultra. Based on a supply chain study, Apple may be planning new hardware to make this model stand out.

Smaller Dynamic Islands at the top of the screen are possible. The Ultra may replace the Pro Max since the amount of display components bought isn’t adequate for both models.

Exclusive Features
The iPhone 17 Ultra will also include exclusive features, according to the rumor. It may be the only phone with vapor chamber cooling to prevent overheating. It may be bulkier than the iPhone 16 Pro Max due to a larger battery.

This may sound bold, but Apple already labels things “Ultra”—like the Apple Watch Ultra and M3 Ultra processor. Apple might hike pricing and increase profit margins by releasing an iPhone Ultra with premium features.
