On Android, ChatGPT is now able to serve as your automated digital assistant.

The newest beta of ChatGPT lets Android users substitute Google’s Gemini as their default digital assistant. This OpenAI version lets users incorporate the chatbot into their device’s main functions.
This modification lets users enable ChatGPT using Android navigation to launch Google Assistant. Holding the home button on the three-button navigation bar launches the chatbot. If you prefer gesture navigation, slide up and hold from either bottom corner to start ChatGPT. A lengthy power button push will also launch the chatbot if the setting is enabled.
Launching ChatGPT directly into voice mode lets you command the chatbot. Users should know that Gemini does not allow a voice-activated hotword like “Hey, Google”. This is because trustworthy, pre-installed apps require specific APIs.
The public release date of this feature is unknown. Users outside the Android beta program ChatGPT may have to wait. However, Android smartphones with ChatGPT as the default digital assistant should provide customers additional alternatives.
